  • Terry Reynolds - Managing Director

    Born in Nelson and went to Nelson College (boarder, Rutherford House) Terry is a professional Marine Engineer. Served time advanced trade fitter & turner. Engineering has been his whole life. Went to sea as an Oiler as a young teenager and worked his way through the Merchant Navy ranks to Chief Engineer. He was one of the youngest Chief Engineers to be given a ship. After the birth of son Neil in 1986 he joined the Ministry of Transport, Marine Division, Whangarei and trained as a Surveyor of Ships and Engineer Surveyor and was Gazetted in 1987. 1992 was then given the entire Top of The South to run until we decided to start our own inspection business in 1996. He has a passion for Heritage Boilers and Triumph Motorcycles, is a keen Pistol shooter and Apiarist.

  • Jean Reynolds - Marketing Director

    Born in Auckland and lived all over the North of the North until settling in Napier with first Husband (died 1999) where her two daughters were born. Moved to Whangarei in 1982, met and married Terry, then spent years at sea onboard refrigerated cargo ships travelling around the world. Helped with the bookwork and ships stores and oversaw the building of a miniature beam engine which was later tested and Lloyds certified. After Terry became a Surveyor she learnt all about quality systems and report writing. Jean spends most of her time in the office although she does escape from time to time to meet clients. She shares Terry’s passion for steam engines and won’t let him do an inspection without her. The backyard is a menagerie for Wekas, cats, hedgehogs, birds and beehives. A keen biker, Jean rides a Triumph Bonneville T100 motorbike.
